Альянс каттлей - это большая группа растений, включающая множество популярных и распространенных родов - Laelia, Brassavola, Schomburgkia, Encyclia, Epidendrum, Barkeria, Sophronitis, Broughtonia. Род Каттлея насчитывает около 50 видов и большое количество природных гибридов. В культуре распространено около 30 видов и сотни искусственных гибридов. Местообитание: Центральная и Южная Америка. Различают две основных группы 1. Однолистная группа - растения имеют вытянутые мясистые веретеновидные, иногда сплюснутые псевдобульбы с одним верхушечным кожистым листом. Цветонос выходит из чехла, появляющегося в основании листа на верхушке нового побега, и несет несколько крупных ароматных цветов. Преобладающая окраска цветов - от розово-лиловой до белой. 2. Двулистная группа - растения с длинными цилиндрическими псевдобульбами, несущими два, иногда три, кожистых листа. Цветонос верхушечный, с несколькими цветами среднего размера. (Москва, но название оранжереи я абсолютно не помню, меня дядюшка гулять водил). Любовь на всю жизнь, мне они тогда показались цветами из сказки, абсолютный анриал. Теперь имеется мечта - к пенсии завести маленькую оранжерею с катлеями, чтоб они там цвели в любое время года, одна за другой... Псевдобульбы зеленого цвета, прямые, цилиндрические, немного сплющенные, бороздчатые, длиной около 20 см, листья большие, плотные, длиной - 25см, Растение принадлежит к группе однолистных видов каттлей . Цветонос короткий, вертикальный с двумя – четырьмя цветками. Цветок достигает размера 13 – 14 см в поперечнике. C. schroederae - одна из самых ароматных видов среди каттлей. Окраска чашелистиков и лепестков варьируется от белого до бледно розового цвета, с оранжевым пятном у основания губы. Цветочная почка начинает развиваться в январе, время расцвета март - июнь.
