У меня вот такие вопросы к зарубежной научной общественности:
1) Я знаю, что Гарвард является частным университетом. Может ли кто-нибудь подсказать, примеры других успешных частных (не государственных, муниципальных и т.п.) университетов или научных центров, занимающихся фундаментальными исследованиями?
2) Какую долю (примерно) в общем объеме исследований в частных научно-образовательных центрах (университетах) занимают прикладные и фундаментальные проекты? (Имеется ввиду: финансирование и занятость исследователей).
Буду очень благодарен за любую информацию по данным вопросам.

наш Питтсбургский Университет тоже частный. Даже есть какой-то государственный праздник, в который вся страна отдыхает, а мы работаем, потому что мы не государственные. Правда, это день потом приплюсовывают к весенним каникулам. Якобы.

Про долю не подскажу, но в принципе эту информацию можно найти в сети (она открыта).
