Вот какой спамчик мне пришел на мыло.
А вообще-то прикольно. Кто интересно с этим синдромом в России работает. Вполне реально миллиончик отхватить. Нужен хороший банк крови пациентов, да пару идеек на что смотреть.
Dear Solver: vladimir70
We are pleased to have the opportunity to invite you to participate in InnoCentive's first million dollar challenge, and to join us in researching a fatal disorder with no known cure or effective treatment.
Prize4Life, Inc, is a nonprofit organization pursuing the goal of advancing treatment for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease. On November 6, 2006, Prize4Life announced an InnoCentive Challenge with rewards of up to $1 million USD for discovery of a biomarker for ALS.
ALS is a neurodegenerative disorder manifesting in the death of motor neurons in the brain and spinal cord. Muscle weakness, atrophy and eventual paralysis are the symptoms. Currently, no effective therapy exists for the disease and patients only have a life expectancy of 2-5 years from the onset of symptoms.
The Prize4Life challenge is divided into two tracks - theoretical findings and real outcomes. The first track, with awards up to $15,000 calls for solvers to submit theoretical papers on how they would develop a biomarker for ALS. The second track would involve actual delivery of the biomarker. A prize of up to $925,000 will be awarded for the first validated ALS biomarker submitted that meets the requirements.
