Что означает слово SYNTENY? Его нет ни в каких словарях. Оно как-то связано со сравнением геномных последовательностей.
Synteny много раз встречается например в статье "Genomes: Fowl sequence", JEREMY SCHMUTZ AND JANE GRIMWOOD, Nature 432, 679-680 (09 December 2004).

Синтения - это совпадение порядка расположения генов (гомологов) в разных геномах. В общем случае, чем ближе родство между организмами, тем выше их синтения.
